Ubuntu based with a custom Gnome desktop. The company System76 has also chosen, unlike Ubuntu, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Linuxkernel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><u>GNU \/Linux kernel<\/u><\/a> to update to newer versions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.makeuseof.com\/snap-vs-appimage-vs-flatpak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><u>Use Flatpak instead of Snap<\/u><\/a> and create their own software where needed. In my experience, the kernel that uses Pop!_OS also tends to work better with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presonus.com\/learn\/technical-articles\/Digital-Audio-Latency-Explained\" target=\"_blank \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><u>low latency audio<\/u><\/a>.<\/p><\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<hr><div id=\"wplf_list-item-3\" class=\"list-item wplf-item\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<a class=\"wplf_link\" href=\"https:\/\/pipewire.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"list-img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/thuisstudio.thefreedomraven.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp-links-page\/Pipewire1697821641-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" style=\"box-shadow: 0 5px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.2),0 5px 15px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.19);\" \/><\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<p class=\"wplf_display\" style=\"font-weight: bold; \" >Pipewire<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/a><p class=\"wplf_desc\" style=\"\"><p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\" class=\"translation-block\">Pipewire is the new audio and video engine that should facilitate the use of (low latency) audio on Linux. Many Linux distributions have since at least replaced Pulse Audio for pipewire.
