Couldn't pass it, lots of interesting new options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">For example, I'm very happy with the IR (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Impulse Response\" target=\"_blank\">Impulse Response<\/a>) microphone options that I got now. Now to give a certain sonic shape to my guitar tone I use physical mics (I use a budget but good Ribbon, and SM57 clone which I like clicks better than the original Shure).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only gives the problem that in my home studio, with quite a few neighbors, I have to put the amplifier on a decent volume. With the IR microphones I can use my studio completely silently with the built-in USB audio output of the Katana. I haven't played with it enough yet, but it sounds very promising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Plus a few other updates that I didn't expect in the few years I've owned the thing now. Wow ... a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Klon_Centaur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centaur clone<\/a>, pedal bend, second equalizer ... feels like Christmas .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BOSS KATANA MKII - UPDATE - VERSION II - WHAT&#039;S NEW? TUTORIAL\" width=\"760\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AgAL-eXi0gI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Unfortunately, the Boss Tone Studio software doesn't work on Linux, but there is an alternative that works very well (maybe even slightly better). The alternative is called <a href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/fxfloorboard\/files\/KatanaFxFloorBoard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FXFloorBoard<\/a>, you can run the edit guitar settings in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FXFloorboard for Boss Katana\" width=\"760\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sZToztHVl7c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">FXFloorboard still works (as far as I've tested) with the new firmware, but hasn't implemented the new features yet. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/p\/fxfloorboard\/discussion\/585787\/thread\/7eb7d3fc3a\/?limit=25#76c4\/50b7\" target=\"_blank\">Working on it according to the developer (gumtownbassman)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the big article about the Boss Katana 100 MKII in my GNU\/Linux setup will have to wait a little longer. Device is an important part of my entire studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The firmware can be found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boss.info\/global\/support\/by_product\/katana-100_mk2\/updates_drivers\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> .
